NAM panel members Richard P. Byrne, Esq. and Susan Hernandez, Esq. will be presenting a

3-hour CLE program on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at the New York State Trial Lawyers Institute consisting of a mock mediation and best practices tips directly from the mediators themselves. The seminar entitled When & How To Settle or Fight will focus on how to better understand the how and why of the negotiation process, and how to bring a successful outcome to a case.

Topics to be addressed will include: Is mediation appropriate for every case; What is the mediator's function and what makes a good mediator; Why is it important for the adjuster to be present at the mediation; Why is it important for the client to be at the mediation and how to prepare them for it; What should be brought out in the mediation memo and opening remarks; How to interpret the signs and signals you are hearing, and how to counter appropriately: When should you walk away and when you should you stay and close the deal.
